Not only drawn: planned. Broke down in parts, simplified and rethought for mass production. Not just form and certainly not just function. The definition of design is an almost impossible one, like that of art. It has to do with reproducibility, standard, industrial production, but by themselves, they are not enough features. With the sign? The signature? The decor? No object can exist without form or surface, color or matter. There is the anonymous design, the archetypal one ... When the shape of an object approaches its function to the point of matching it, or hides it, denies it or even discards it until it becomes something else, it embraces the gesture of whoever possesses and uses that object, it relates to its context and our desires, communicates with the image we would like of the world that is under our control and reverberates our ego in the eyes of others ... then we are getting closer.

Non solo disegnato: progettato. Scomposto, semplificato e ripensato per la produzione in serie.Non solo forma e sicuramente non solo funzione. La definizione è una di quelle impossibili, come quella dell'arte. Ha a che fare con la riproducibilità, lo standard, la produzione industriale, ma da sole, non sono caratteristiche sufficienti. Con il segno? La firma? Il decoro? Nessun oggetto nasce senza forma e neppure senza superficie, colore o materia. C'è il design anonimo, quello archetipo... Quando la forma di un oggetto si avvicina alla sua funzione fino a combaciare, oppure la nasconde, la nega o ancora se ne scarta fino a diventare altro, abbraccia il gesto di chi quell'oggetto lo possiede e lo usa, si relaziona con il suo contesto e i nostri desideri, comunica con l'immagine che vorremmo del mondo che sta sotto il nostro controllo e riverbera il nostro ego agli occhi degli altri... allora ci stiamo avvicinando.
